IDEATE was contracted to work alongside the client to design their dream home. The client already had an image in their mind of how the exterior should take shape. They were however excited to be fully involved in the design process and therefore open to suggestions and other options. Within the interior, they desired a comfortable spacious home whereby they could entertain friends and family alike. Ideate was given free reign in making this occur within the parameters of the relationship to the exterior vision. The interior is centred around the main entrance hall. It is a two story space with a staircase leading to the second level. On this level, a combination of wood, glass, and metal form a banister that rings the main entrance hall, creating a sense of openness and expanse. On the main level, the entrance hall opens up onto the dining room, family room and leads into a large kitchen meant to help facilitate the kind of entertaining the clients love to do. Overall, the design of both the interior and exterior is a balanced blend of materials and forms that create a rich and sophisticated palette.
