With a growing family, this client engaged our design team to help them realize their vision of an expanded and renovated home. Having purchased a very typical ranch style home just northwest of Winnipeg, this couple soon knew that they would require more space for their immediate and extended family to be comfortable. Two additions were contemplated – one on each side of the house – allowing the bedroom and private family wing of the home to be expanded and leaving enough residual room for a dining room that seats 24 extremely comfortably for family get-togethers as well as a very enviable kitchen and living space for additional entertaining. The renovation eventually consumed the entire home, including additional guest bedrooms in the lower level and a fully renewed exterior envelope, complete with new roof, siding, stonework and windows. The final product is just what the client had in mind, and to most people looks like a brand new custom built home.
