Westland Construction

IDEATE was engaged to help this general contractor relocate and expand its operations. This is not unusual, with the exception of the timeline - which was extremely aggressive. The client needed to be relocated and up and running in their newly renovated space within six weeks - from start to finish. IDEATE was up for the challenge. Each of the design phases was fast-tracked to allow for the necessary time to allocate to drawings and site review of construction. Everyone involved on the project rallied to get the project put together within the short time frame. Decisions needed to be made quickly and required an understanding of the overall outcome long before the space was complete. The design team wanted the space to have the qualities of construction - honest, raw materials, exposed connections and clean and simple lines used to exemplify the construction work of this company. The space was ready for occupancy on time and the client was able to relocate as required. This project is an excellent example of collaboration between designers and contractors who can get the job done efficiently and with excellent results given obstacles.
